Welcome to the City of Brooklyn Park, Instant permit portal!

This portal is designed for two reasons, first, to allow licensed contractors to obtain an Instant permit and the second, this portal allows anyone to search the permit history of a property. 

Contractors: The following types of permits are considered Instant permits for only residential properties. Inspections are required, and permit cards shall be posted on the job site. 

  • Furnace/AC Replacement (any other work being conducted with the replacement? If yes, then you must apply here Electronic Permit Application)
  • Hood Cleaning (Fire)
  • Roof Replacement
  • Siding Replacement
  • Window/Door Replacement
  • Water Softener Replacement
  • Water Heater Replacement
  • New House Plumbing/ New House Mechanical 
  • Fireplace 

Residential Building, Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors: You must have a current contractor license on file with the City of Brooklyn Park before you can access your account through the portal. If you need to renew or update your license information with the city, please submit a copy of your contractor license issued by the Department of Labor and Industry or your mechanical bond to Building Inspections Division. You will receive a response within one business day confirming the activation of your account.

Hood Cleaning Contractors: You must have a current city contractor license on file with the City of Brooklyn Park before you can access your account through the portal. If you need to retrieve your license number, please contact the Fire Department to get your license number at 763-493-8020 or via email at firemarshal@brooklynpark.org.

Public Information Search: This portal allows anyone to search the permit history of a property.

If you have an active online contractor's account, please log in below. If this is your first time using online permitting, and you have an active contractor's license, click on "Activate Account" below.


Activate Account - Contractors who are already registered with the city may activate their account online.

Forgot Username - If you have already activated your account but have forgotten your username, simply click here to retrieve it.

Forgot Password - If you have already activated your account but have forgotten your password, simply click here to reset it.
